The most likely cause of the software suddenly stopping working is a software bug or incompatibility issue. It is recommended to check for updates to the software, as well as to check the system requirements to make sure the software is compatible with the current system. If the issue persists, it is recommended to contact the software developer for further assistance.

Yes, you can use just the VPN browser add-on to download torrents using uTorrent Web. Using the app is not necessary in this case.

I am currently running uTorrent 2.0. It works for me as it does everything that I need it to do. In the left column, it showed that I had 37 torrents: 34 completed and 3 downloading, but it seems that they're all gone. They were there yesterday, but now I can't find them and they're not in the "all feeds" box.

First, in the uTorrent window, try clicking on the Completed button from the upper-left side of the window (above the All Feed box) and also check the Downloading section for the three torrents that were ongoing. If they aren't there anymore it means that you or someone else with access to your PC either deleted the files from their location on the disk or removed them from the application's interface.

See if you can locate your file on your disk using Windows Explorer. If you aren't sure where you saved them, open uTorrent's window, go to Options-->Preferences and check out the Directories section. If you still can't find them, try downloading another torrent and see where the prompt shows that it's being saved.

Lastly, I would recommend upgrading to a newer version of uTorrent (3.5). I know that it shows ads in its main window, which can be very frustrating, but using the 2.0 edition means that you are missing a lot of security patches and since the application's job is to download files on your hard-disk, it makes you quite vulnerable to attacks and infections.

Hmm. Same problem here. On Google Chrome magnets don't work. Try mozilla or Internet Explorer.

There are multiple causes of uTorrent not starting the download. uTorrent might not start the download because:

  • there is no seeder or peer available. > search for alternative torrent with other tracker
  • firewall blocks uTorrent > open your favorite firewall application and allow uTorrent to communicate with Internet
  • you need to log-in on the tracker before downloading. > log-in if you have a username and password to the tracker who manages the torrent file
  • ISP blocked uTorrent protocol. > you need to ask permission from your ISP
  • incorrect settings in uTorrent > enable protocol encryption in uTorrent settings
  • port is not open and uTorrent can't connect. > if you're using a router, open the port from the NAT > Port Forwarding section.

You need to check each case and take one action at a time to eliminate these factors.

The downloaded movie has no sound. Can you help?

B
Answer by biyabo

This may be because you do not have the audio codec your computer needs in order to read the audio. Movies need audio and video codecs to read, just like you would need Microsoft Word (or something like it) to read Word Documents. Use Windows Update to update your computer. If that doesn't work, then google VLC player - it's a media player that is compatible with a lot of codecs.

I don't have permission to download in uTorrent. How to fix?

R
Answer by Robert Polubinski

If you encounter functionality problems, try running uTorrent as Administrator. Although it does not need access to system resources, the application should work without Admin privileges. However, if you don't have permission to download, then you'll have to create an account on the website from where you have downloaded the torrent file because this looks like a private one.

uTorrent allows you to download torrents. It's a downloader that uses the P2P technology to download torrents from p2p users. It cannot download FLV videos. If the torrent you're downloading contains FLV videos, the application will download them and not the other way around.
